Gaiden follows the actions of a secondary character in one of life’s infinite branches. There’s a back and forth game of textures, synthetized melodies and frontal cinematic sampling which help forge the narrative for this off-center familiarly harmonized 32min album.
It’s in the mix of details and their respective transversal archs that the story comes together as one. Each piece serves as a bridge between the past and the present, leaving openings along the way for what could’ve been. Be it a psychological analysis of nostalgia or a concrete piece of music history. Focusing on the periphery instead of the main plot, the story moves with this non-linear relationship between pace and progression, challenging the concept of protagonism. - Luan Bellussi
